Description
These are the main cliffs on the Dorset coast that contain most of the fossils. This pic was taken a couple of weeks ago from Lyme Regis. In the valley, almost straight ahead, lies Charmouth.
The cliff faces are constantly falling down which reveals even more specimens.

They have such an evocative name, I love it when they're on "Coast" on the BBC! Have you been to the spot where they're folded up and then back on themselves at a 90 degree angle, like a wrinkle in a bedsheet?

Beautiful shot and information. Are the fossils, that fall naturally, protected or can you scavenge around for souvenirs? Dana
