Description

Das ist das 1865 erbaute "Thalia Theater" in Potsdam. 1920, nach aufwendigen Umbauarbeiten, wurde es das "Concerthaus". 1945 beschlagnahmte die Rote Armee das Gebäude und es wurde das "Haus der sowjetischen Offiziere". Seit der Wiedervereinigung 1989 und der folgende Abzug der russischen Truppen verwahrloste das Grundstück zu einer baufälligen Ruine. Blick von der ehemaligen Bühne in den Saal. ================================================ Built in 1865 this is the "Thalia Theatre" in Potsdam. 1920, after extensive renovations, it was the "Concert House. " In 1945 the Red Army seized the building and it was the "House of Soviet officers". Since reunification in 1989, following the withdrawal of Russian troops the site of a dilapidated ruin. Excellent capture of this old theater/Concerthaus. The title fits well - art and places for art often are victims of politics/ignorance. Art often is in opposition to politics because artist wants freedom and the last one control... Rhanagaz
