Description

Ultra Fractal 5.04, with four-layers used. I've a huge respect for Samuel Monnier's formulas so anything new has to be relished. I've resisted using too much control in this image (fractals order this world and probably the Universe too). The title, "Mystic Landscape," is impelled by the ancient Wiltshire chalk uplands, now mostly empty of people but the brooding presence of Stonehenge, Silbury Hill, the thick scattering of round barrows and their more illustrious (and rare) long barrows speak silently of a mysteriously settled past. The Ridgeway was once a major highway for our ancient forefathers in days when the hollows and lowlands were an impenetrable glue of woodlands. Today those starkly delineated white horses (Liddington, Uffington, Westbury) carved on the chalk slopes point to ways forgotten. These guys and ladies had respect and community as they grappled with the unknown. Cliff.
