Description

Hi everyone, last one for the week. Reworked the legs of an earlier Zect to give it muscle, just an idea, still a long way to go. Ive tried to show little close ups to give an idea to what i try and do with my models, even though you canot see half the detail, i know its there and as such when used for close ups it will give the desired result. This took about an hour to put together including the new legs, and render, so just a quicky. Im working at making my cut away models to show internal detailing. For reference this was all (except the imported .3ds fonts using rhino) created using nothing but Bryce 4. Primatives and boleans, materials a combination of presets and my own. Bryce can model very well, (well i cant model in anything else so i wold say that, i get many people who claim that Bryce is not for modeling, and i have to disagree, i find the interface easy, but like chess, easy to learn a lifetime to master, as such ive a long way to go yet before i truly work out what can be done with it. Have a wonderful week everyone and thanks for the warm and kind remarks on my return, and most importantly thankyou for taking a look. 2000 x1500 render (15 minutes in fine setting) Poly count, 8,900,540. Laterz people, be good Steve, Kat and Crew :) best viewed full size, presented as rendered. composition, lettering and compression done in psp.

Supreme modeling work, I'm even more in awe! Like you I'm most comfortable working in Bryce, but I'm sure folks that are used to other systems probably find it just as confusing to them as I've found other systems... You're one of the people who is really showing what Bryce can do in the hands of a creative and skilled mind, and it's a real inspiration to see!

Awesome modelling and detailing on a great idea ! I would just have liked something other that the skull and bones symbol on the missiles, however. It feels kind of blank on this alien machine... Could this Zect be an insectoid robot made by insectoid beings ? A like symbol but with insect-like skull and bones could then be nice ! Anyways, as I don't have read the Zect background on previous pics (too muche of them, but just let me some time ^-^), maybe I'm going on a different direction than you, if so I apologize. And keep up the good work ^-^

Thankyou Mutos2, yup i agree the bland skull and crossbones are not in line with the model, im working on a new logo, and no you are on the money with the idea of the Zects they are self built, (thats the idea) created after generations of earlier models who modified themselves to suit the purposes they were designed for a kind of evolution. Thankyou for your kind words, time to start on the next generation as reference the head on the new Zect has the combined poly count of nearly a complete earlier zect model..LOL over do it, but i cant help it, time to melt this pc, and push Bryce again.

As a newcomer to Bryce I find the fact that this was modeled in Bryce a masterful achievement! I am inspired and impressed!
