Description

Conquistadores ("conquerors") is the term widely used to refer to the Spanish soldiers, explorers, and adventurers who brought much of the Americas under the control of Spain in the 15th through the 19th centuries following Europe's discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus in 1492. The leaders of the conquest of the Aztec Empire were Hernán Cortés and Pedro de Alvarado. Francisco Pizarro led the conquest of the Incan Empire. The conquistadors in the Americas were more volunteer militia than an actual organized army. They had to supply their own materials, weapons and horses. Some were supported by a government such as Hernan Cortes by Spain. More than anything, their unsurmountable greed was without precedent. The story of the Conquistador is that of an impoverished noble, the younger male who received no wealth, acting out their hatred in a foreign land and destroying the lives of much wealthier and powerful people and whole civilizations. Many died in either great pain, disgrace, or in a worse state of poverty than which they began. The Spanish crown and the Viceroyals benefited the most from their work product. This image shows one of the few female conquistadores who were in search of wealth and honor, and I guess she found it.......... Thanks for dropping in and I hope you enjoy this little scene. Awesome! She's left handed. The sheath to her sword is on the left side.... The length of the knife/sword makes that difficult. Typically if you're left handed your weapon is tied/fixed to the right. That's why the right of way/side of the road is what it is throughout Europe. Most are right handed (I'm not) and if you pass oncoming equestrian traffic on the right and oncomers are armed then the scabbards will clank each other. Thus left side versus right. If you draw a large edged-weapon from the same side as you are handed/favored you'll probably die trying to expose the weapon. Coming from the opposite side gives you room to work with. No big deal. I like the picture.

gauscho girl by Swam i believe. excellent work but wait i am just warming up for a little rant LOL. smoke ok coffee ok im ready here we go. now robbing is one thing but robbing and beeing stupoid is too much. i am always amazed when i see how many tons of gold and all they robbed (killing 1000s along the road of course)and now they end up beeing amidst the weakest economies in the European Union. thats when you are overgreedy and are too dumb to calculate. let alone speaking of all the diseases they imported, monks having sex with natives and spreading syph arouns among other diseases, and bringing culture to the savages culture my ass. sorry i love spain but i cannot respect a nation who in the 21st century still enjoyes animals beeing killed just for the fun of the plebs, and dont care.but hey they chase smokers now . they denounce smokers but still keep on leaving their babies shitty pampers laying on the beach,or sometimes they even shit next to the path where the tourists are supposed to walk. but then its never them they blame anyone besides themselves arrogant little macho sobs. kids leave the schoolyard in the break and eat outside on the street, leaving all the waste laying around, not a single one takes his dirt to the garbage can.i wonder how some of them live in caves?? well.end of rant lets enjoy the sun.
