Description

I was going through some old slides the other day, and stumbled across this one. It's kind of a reflection of my mood lately.... But it will pass... I just wanted to let all my Rendo friends know I'm still alive, and kicking. My comments and postings have been sporadic lately, and will probably remain so for a while. With health problems and other issues with elderly relatives on both sides of the family, and other relatives who are working extremely hard and tirelessly at being a pain in the butt, things are a little stressful at the ol' RodS Ranch lately. But it will pass, sooner or later. It always does. I'll continue to comment as much as possible on your wonderful art (I'm waaaaay behind at this point), and will continue to create new art, and post as time and situation allows. I am still working on the TNA story - things are about to get real interesting for the girls. ;-D About the photo... This actually isn't the moon - it's the sun! This is the result of a funky roll of slide film - the whole roll came out blue and really funny-looking. I don't know if the film itself was bad, or if someone at the lab cross-processed (used the wrong chemistry) accidentally. At any rate, they didn't charge me, gave me a new roll of film, and I actually like the way this image turned out! I like the look of the clouds, and the moody, other-worldly look. The two streaks at the bottom are reflections on railroad tracks. The slide was scanned at 4800 DPI, and I doinked around with it a bit in Photoshop. I used a watercolor filter, which gave it a kind of grainy, pointillist effect, and added a bit of contrast. Thanks to all of you for your comments, and support! This community absolutely ROCKS!

HI ROD! Nice to hear from you. I know you are experiencing some challenging times right now and I am thinking of you often. Please be assured you are not forgotten. Though life is a bit busy here, I still think of you and Jo often and hope you are well. It is a sad time when a life cycle reaches it's point of renewal, becuase we humans often don't understand it and I understand that. But, please be assured I am here for you should you need me! I like this image you have uploaded. I would have sworn it was a shot of the moon at the beach but then I have had two margarittas, LOL!

Sometime life gives you chocolate, and sometimes it gives you pudding... Nice mistake on there part...too bad the photo developers don't really exist anymore. I was really sad to find out that my old Contax 35mm is now basically a paperweight....

Easter is two weeks away.... You'll have to endure all the crap til then - lol - well, ya know it's the family thing always surfaces right before the holidays... I'm looking forward to Easter, don't see my kids the way I'd like... but yeah, My Wife is kinda fussing with her family right now. It's almost 8 here and I'm almost caught up with commenting, so that means I get to work on BUSTED 4 HOT ROD - I've gotta look into comic programs - I need all those word balloon and I need my fonts to stay consistant - lol cross your fingers and hope I get a lot done tonight. Moon.... your SUN, Looks good, I knew you had a filter on it, didn't know it wasn't the moon.

Quite an interesting image, Bro. At first I thought that was the moon, thanks for the extra information. It looks like a cover of a Stephen King book, nice but mysterious.

Hi Rod...well, it may not have turned out the way you thought it would, but it is a really interesting picture! And I really did think it was the moon until I read your comments. So sorry to hear about the troubles you're going through at this time. Having elderly family members sick, especially on BOTH sides of the family can be very stressful. Please don't add more stress by worrying about not commenting, uploading, etc. We'll be here when you get back!! You and Jo give each other a BIG, warm hug and know that you have many friends here!!!

I really like the effect as well. I can recall having some weird things happen to some of my rolls of film back in my student days (when I was shooting with real film - sometimes I miss those days, but I sure don't miss those nasty chemicals!) but I never got such cool results as this! Wow. Sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations, I sure hope things get better for you sooner rather than later. Hang in there friend, we're all rooting for you!

Nice capture, I had a call from my son who was in California and called me at 1:39 am to ask what I was doing? I said I am in bed why son, and he said well get that camera and go and look at the moon and take some pictures, so whats a mom to do, I got up grabbed camera, tripod and stood out in the cold and watched the clouds pass slowly in front of the moon for an hour I got one halfway decent shot. and went in and went to bed and made a mentel note of I need to return the favor with a late night call to my son VERY SOON lol I hope you get to feeling better soon.
