Description
I had the pleasure of a "before open time" visit to the butterfly haven at the nature museum in Chicago this weekend. They occasionally open the doors to 15 photo nuts (although there were only 5 of us there that day)so pictures can be taken without having to fight for viewing space or worrying about tripods being knocked over.
It was a wonderfully enchanting experience, I had butterflies landing on my hair, had to watch my step as they often landed right in front of where I was going to step, and had to look before sitting or setting down the camera. In short, they were everywhere!
I took many pictures with my 75-300mm lens with the extension tubes but I also took some with my IR camera. Just to see how it would come out.
Here's one of those images. I like how they show up against the white leaves.

It appears, as if the butterfly has one big earring - like a Gypsie... very eerie looking image - but always interesting in IR, BB
