Inkscape tip of the week
Gradient population control
Control D is your best friend in Inkscape. When you create a copy (control/C) of an item it also creates a new copy of any gradients you might have used on the item. As there's no way to rename gradients yet in Inkscape any large picture can quickly develop an unbelievably long gradent list thats very hard to find individual gradients in.
With Control D you create not a copy but a duplicate. With a duplicate you still get an exact copy of your object but you reuse the gradient from the original object instead of creating a new copy.
Under File on the tool bar there is a second feature, Vacuume Defs (hotkey u)
Using this will go through your file and clean any left over orphan gradients.

Hey This is higher up the food chain than a Heron. If there is a Heron in this picture I hope it's not inside that Panther:) Nice work
