Lovely lady. Beautifully done portrait, and yes, she does look melancholy. I think the same lighting and dof, but just a touch more smile, or maybe her mouth a little more relaxed, even an "ooooh" or an "ah" to add mystery. And the fabric should go, it only distracts. She has such lovely shoulders and skin.

fade your brush out just a little more and you won't lose your sharpe edges nearly as much... if you've got a cloning tool, it helps keep the skin looking pouress... Picture looks good, just a little heavy on the painting, kinda like when a woman puts on too much make up, ya know... hope my advice helps.... Stevieukwonder has been doing a lot of portrait touch ups, he doesn't post them here, but he sends me them all the time, so if you have questions on any touch up stuff, He's a good guy and I have noticed a big... no.... a huge improvement this last year - check him out if he's not a fave artist, he's a great guy.
