Description

It's funny how some of my models develop. I created a Cliff Swallow, then decided I needed their distinctive mud nests,... then of course I needed eaves to nest in and what better eaves than the mission at San Juan Capistrano (which has made the Cliff Swallow's March 19th arrival famous when thousands of the small birds, show up from 'wintering' in Argentina). I started by modeling the Priest's garden (shown in the image) and ended up creating a good portion of the whole image. So a month later I have my swallow image and a new architectural product :) Of course, recently I found out the swallows don't nest in Capistrano anyone... The "Capistrano Swallows" are now nesting in the eaves of the Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills, Southern California.... miles north of San Juan Capistrano. Rendered in Poser Pro without post. Models: Plants (LB Botanicals); Swallows, Nests, Mission (all of part of my “Mission Bells” set by me)

Very well done and nice piece of information. I guess we will always think of them as returning to Capistrano because "When the Swallows Come Back to Valeno Country Club" doesn't make a very catchy song title :)

Well, no matter where they now nest. That is lovely, Ken. . I remember visiting San Jun Capistrano as a child, but don't remember too much about it.
