Description

It's hard for a peacock used to the oohs and aahs of his audience to be utterly ignored. Yet, even the most palatable plate may become dull after a while. So this poor peacock was cold-shouldered by a young mom completely engrossed in oohing and aahing her child girl at the fence bordering the pond in the same park in Graz, Austria. Thanks for your kind comments.

The mother seems to be looking at her child. No peacock can compete with that. Fantastic fun capture.

Great capture. Like someone else mentioned, it's amazing how the peacock managed to get on the fence with that heavy tail.

Ah, ego. Such a proud creature to be humbled by someone so small. Really good capture, one does not get scenes like this every day.

Certainly an incredible capture Sandra - luck was also on your side ... maybe the peacock is somewhat jealous and feels neglected, that the attention has been taken away from him, superb Sandra, BB

What a marvelous capture! If you took the mother and child out, it would seem that the surroundings had been specifically designed to display the magnificence of the peacock. And yet he sits there in all his splendor, ignored. But maybe it is not so grim. Maybe the child is enraptured by his presence. There is nothing, not even a peacock, that can compare to the joy in a child's face. If the peacock is truly being ignored, he still has a weapon at his disposal. Peacock's cries are very hard to ignore, especially at such close range. Beautiful shot! I love the lines of the fence which are emphasized by the whiteness of the lower left corner, the idyllic nature of the scene, and the humor.

I remember that as child I waited for an unbearable long time for a peacock to spread his feathers and of course it never happened. I was very disappointed then. This is a spectacular capture, the kid caught in motion, mother and peackock looking to the water.

What a wonderful candid shot! Maybe the peacock found the kid interesting, too!
