Description

Hello all, Been awhile since I've posted here is something a bit diffrent it used several programs for the final result. Each image is from the same base image but each of the variants are diffrent enough in what is scene of the pattern through the use of filters and colors they seem to have made phases like the moon does. The same moon but diffrent phase give it a diffrent look same concept here. PRODUCTION: I used DAZ Studio for the origianl image which was the picture Nothing is the same posted here http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2079980&user_id=4249&np&np Ran this through Postworkshop filters and actions then that was put through various versions of filters with Camerabag for a total of 9 variants These were then loaded into Comic life for compiliation and arrangent. Then this image was dropped into Jasc PSP 7.0 and and layer was duplicated flipped reversed and then a color wash was put over that. Sent back into camera bag for enhancement and the second border added. Finally back into PSP for shrinking and Thumbnail creation. hope you enjoy Total time about 4 hours aprrorximately. THE QUSTION: Is art only art when it done by someone who has studied art and produces in the traditional way of painting or drawing or even digitally? Or is something still of arititic value even though it is produced digitally by a layman with no formal art training? I've seen images like this in an art museum the only deffrence being they painted theirs and they were well known artitst I produced mine through digital manipulation. Does that make mine any less artistic or powerful as a statement of myself or my abilities? You be the judge! Thanks for viewing and as always comments good and bad are always welcomed and encouraged. Chris PS have a good weekend and if you celebrate Easter Happy Easter or Happy Eostre for those who see things diffrently. ZOOM IN :for the finer points and nuances of the pattern.

Digital art is coming into it's own these days. It's being accepted more and more and I think that's valid. Truly good digital stuff isn't all that easy to create aw we all know. I know that many here have spent hours and hours, and days and weeks developing one piece of work, so it's not just something that is slapped together in minutes. Creativity and artistry shows, no matter if it's done with pencil, paints, or digitally. This is a very cool work, and could happily live in a museum or gallery anywhere.

Very interesting work Chris ! And I totally agree in one of your previous post where you state that the best art comes from experiments. I have done that myself with 2D art and usually I turn out liking my experiment much more...:) As for the question you mentoend here about: Is art only art when it done by someone who has studied art and produces in the traditional way of painting or drawing or even digitally? Or is something still of arititic value even though it is produced digitally by a layman with no formal art training? Of course( at least in my opinion) 'art is art' no matter if it comes from someone who studied art or not it definitely has an artistic value. The problem is as you stated. it is much more noticed by those artist who are well known. Even if they scribble on a piece of paper, just beacause they are known those scribbles will be considered art of great value. Unfortunately that is just the way it is.... Hugs Diana
