Description

Curacao has a large natural harbor and the access to the sea is called St Anna Baai. The east side of this waterway is Handelskade or in English (Commercial Quay). You saw part of Handelskade in my last posting. This colorful part of Curacao’s capital, of Willemstad, is so popular, that it is the lower part of vehicle license plates. In the lower right of this photo, are three pontoons (in Dutch pantoons). These pontoons are part of a floating bridge that allows people to walk across the St Anna Baai channel. When a cruise ship needs to dock inside the channel or an oil tanker needs to get deeper into the harbor, the floating bridge moves out of the way. The furthest pontoon is actually a tug boat. Thanks for stopping by my gallery, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Stellar shot of the glorious vista, looking much like a row of toy doll houses, Dana. All that's missing is the little boy with his finger in the leaking dike.

A beautiful capture of this very pretty scape, the houses look so lovely and bright. I like the idea of the pontoon bridge too it sounds very practical.
