Description

The other late evening I heard footsteps, turned around and saw this gigantic spider wandering around on my floor. I am glad I found it BEFORE I went to bed :-) OK, to me it was gigantic. The body was about 20 milimeters long. Captured it in a glass and took some close-ups, before I let it free OUTSIDE !!!! :) There are alot of details, if you use FULL SIZE :) Have a beautiful day. We still have a wonderful spring weather. I will try to catch up on you Monday. I might try some of it today. Depends on how flat I am. Just now I feel like a flat battery. Thank you so much for viewing and commenting on my previous post and special warm thanks go to those, who added it to their favorites. :)

I am not afraid of spiders, have one in my bathroom, but not so big. Could not resist showing it to my daughter who is hysterically afraid of both spiders and a lot of other insects. Yuikes, she said, but I thon it is beautiful, especially zoomed in. Great you seized your camera befor letting it out! Such a detailed and beautiful shot!

I'm glad you've given her freedom. Thank you. Spiders have always been among the most fascinating animals that I know. It is always fascinating when you can see such a creature up close, all of its details - the perfection of the animal. Wonderful!

A spider?? Do not jump to conclusions..... let's see: it got fur, 8 legs... this could also be 2 kitties instead?! ;)

Lol.... oh Dear Helle, I too would be VERY glad that I saw this before I entered my soft, warm bed! Big or small, it's still a pest! I was told once never to kill these in the house, but rather just "kindly dispose" of them.... Yikes... don't think I can walk across the hallway knowing I'm holding on of these.... you definitely did a fantastic job with the camera though! Excellent clarity!!!

Amazing spider image - so much detail - if it had been as big as it is on my screen then I'd have run - LOL @Hubert

Oh I hate it when they are in the bed room. When I was young I had a dream once where I was fighting a gaint spider, then I woke up to find a spider crawing up my chest. Made me jump right out of bed! Creepy! : Funny thing is the dream didn't bother me, I consider them action adventure dreams. :D It was the waking up and seeing a small one coming up my chest that got me. LOL! Excellent capture in glass! Great zoom on this! :)

I'm a arachnid fan, when I find them in the house I just leave them be. I figure they are there because they think the hunting will be good and who am I to deprive them of their next meal. So far, no cats have gone missing, all is well. Wonderful image you've got there, I like how the glass reflection makes it look like it's under a magnifer lens. : )

You really got a fabulous detailed shot! I love the close up with so much to see. The body is very similar to the tarantula's. I have done lots of wildlife art with tarantulas so I was amazed to see the main body with the center dimple and the fat, elongated butt. The only spider I fear is the black widow and we have so many here. I have spiders in the house as does everyone here, but I never see them other than their webs on the ceiling. :-)

What a gorgeous shot! I got a funny thought of what life would be like if spiders ever developed the need for eyeglasses, and then I got an image of the rather complicated eyeglasses spiders would have to wear since they have so many eyes and no ears to help hold the glasses in place. But anyway, now I'm rambling. I really like this shot. The hair patterns on this little beauty are amazing and the details are so sharp and crisp. This looks like a rather cuddly spider with all of that soft hair. What a shot! Also, I once heard that spiders in the house are lucky. They're supposed to bring money. Well, that's the mythic rumor anyway.

I turn a glass over on them, slide an envelope or some other sturdy paper stock under the glass, and take the spiders outside and let them loose. Someone once told me, "Not all spiders live outside. You might not be saving its life, but actually killing it!" I was quite surprised that she thought I was saving its life. I was only putting it outside so I didn't have to squish it with a shoe or something and then have to get dead spider out of my carpet! LOL!
