BIO
I went to Edinburgh College of Art in the seventies. I wove tapestries for years and paint in oils. I like photography, learning classical guitar and lacemaking. I enjoy cycling, walking, reading, films.

It looks like broccoli to me but its difficult to say for sure. As for size, there are varieties of giant broccoli but I must confess, this is one wild and wicked plant. :-) Not sure about your weather right now, but as long as it stays cool, you have a chance at getting whatever veggie it is off of it because when it gets warm/hot, it will bolt and you'll only get seeds from it. Did you amend and fertilize this soil? One test you can do is cut a very small piece of the leaf off and taste it. I am sure it is in the cole family but the taste should rule out cabbage. I really do like this picture though. More of a candid shot but it shows a familiarity between food and human.

ha, ha great idea Mrs. Lubner I just went and ate a bit. It's broccoli. Thanks for all the suggestions. The fertilizer is those blue pellet thingies from a bag. The soil here is clay and sand!
