One of my favorite store windows to visit on my walks up Polk St.
I finally meet the stylist behind these wigs as he was closing up shop yesterday and thanked him for his artistry and giving me the opportunity to photography his creations. I asked him out of curiosity how long it takes to do a wig.
He looks at me with a tinkle in eyes and says "It depends on what mood I'm in".
In Short – A neighborhood fixture since 1957, this quirky retail space is a haven for anyone in need of artificial hair. Theatrical styles in fluorescent hues share space with practical page boys, diva 'dos and costume-topping afros. While the shop performs standard hair cut and color services, it is best known for renting, styling and repairing wigs, setting curls, braiding, adding hair extensions and creating drag-worthy looks. Vintage dresses, coats, furs and jewelry crowd racks around the store's perimeter.

I'm neither drag, nor queen, but I'm sure I would love to watch this shop's window every time I would pass it... Love your little stories behind the pictures, Costa! Vashek
