Description

Every now and then we really do need to stop and smell the roses. I'm embarking on a series of challenges that I have given myself. In an effort to kickstart my muse, and more importantly, start using some of the things that have been languishing in my runtime unused, I've decided to render every single V4 outfit I own, and do it alphabetically. Because I organize my runtime where each folder is simply the outfit name except if I have many from one vendor where I then call the folder the vendor name and put them all in there - when I come to that vendor's folder, I'm going to choose either just the one outfit, or I'm going to kitbash a few together. I'm anticipating a lot of these renders to turn out to be total crap - thanks to my habit of being swayed by beautiful promos I often buy something and then look at it later and go WTF????? *laughs* Which I suspect a LOT of us do. So I figure this challenge I have set myself will at least make sure that the runtime stuff that has been sitting there for 4 years and NEVER EVER been used, will finally get an airing - and I won't feel so bad about buying it. *grin* Btw, I've decided this challenge will be about paid for outfits only - not freebies. (that's a different challenge for a different time) So here we have the Almirena dress by Esha available at DAZ. Texture is by the amazing Sarsa also available at DAZ. First time I've ever used it. V4 character is by Freja & Adiene - FRAD Aysa. Also the first time I've ever used that texture. I used some settings from an Elite texture to make it more compatible with DS. Head morph is just me dialing. Ruin set is from DM - I'm pretty sure it's the ruin from Thorns of Time. Background is from Didi_mc. Lights are from InaneGlory's new Dawn to Dusk set available at DAZ. The hair is called Classic Elegance and is a free one - and I cannot for the life of me remember who did it. :headdesk: One of the things I'm excited about in this pic, is that it is my very first time actually painting hair - not using psd hair, but actually painting it myself. Yes, it's not perfect and it's not great, but for a first time, I was quite pleased with it, and it's really encouraged me to keep going. Big thanks to Sveva's Painterly Tutorial for that too - that's where I got the tips for doing it! I painted in the hair falling from the back and to her shoulders - the fringe and bun/braids is part of the actual hair model. I can't see myself painting hair from scratch on every render I do tho....yet. *grin* Hope you enjoy it, and I'd be interested in seeing if anyone else feels like doing the same challenge. Perhaps as a way of stretching yourself, or hoping to kickstart your muse...or at least get some use out of all those things just lying around in your runtime, getting dusty and cobwebby. :D

Beautiful work! Sounds like a wonderful challenge, first I'd have to organize my runtime, and if I started that, you'd probably never see me again, rofl. The Classic Hair model is a freebie in the Renderosity free stuff, by Mint. I love the painted hair you added to it, great job.

This is so... sweet! Who are you and what did you do with Jakiblue?! Seriously though, this is a great challenge that you've laid out for yourself and I'm looking forward to more. Congrats on the hair. I've tried a bit of that myself and it is tedious at best, so I'm impressed you had the patience to work through it. Definitely worth the effort as it opens up a world of new hair styles and more fluid looking hair.

It is always a pleasure to view your gallery. And boy do I relate to your using stuff from your backlog of goodies. OMG - I'm so guilty. I've often thought I shoudl do this. Wonderful painting with the hair. Really lovely work.

Beautiful picture Jaki. You did a great job on the hair too. I didn't realize it was postworked until I read the description. nice mood and camera angle. Alphabetically through the the runtime huh? sounds fun. I'll let you know if I try it too.
