Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

What a celebration! Here in L.A. people complain about being inconvenienced for a few hours once a year.

Great capture of the crowd, well done!!

A sterling shot of the well-mannered crowd for that momentous event, Marilyn! Now, if it was held down here around where I live, there would be complete chaos, with shoving, name-calling, fist fights, possibly even a few knifings and shootings.

I'm skipping around a bit in your gallery and I have to say that it's a nice experience to see your "urban jungle" shot just before your "sea of humanity" shot. It's like you're taking us on a grand tour of various natural environments are repeated through a human medium. This is a cool shot because of the colors and the fact that it should look chaotic with all that's going on, but there's a kind of order to it with a really nice pattern. This is really nice and I love the green bags! They stand out so well!

I've never understood the attraction of running. It's just plane hard work to me with no payoff!!!!!! I love cycling, swimming....even walking.........but running is YUCK! I can imagine that if you were better at it than me (which wouldn't be hard!), it would be a real achievement to better your PB.

That is an amazing scene, at the foot of the Boston State House and it's golden dome. Dana
