Description

Ariolimax californicus, the California Banana Slug! I like them because they are only found in the deepest redwood forests. Up to a foot long, 4 oz. (115g), and 16.5 centimeters / minute = 0.0061515748 mph top speed in a hurry but often much slower! Like me, they love mushrooms. This one lives in the Heritage Grove near La Honda, CA. Enjoy!

I realize this is one of our state symbols but I'm not a slug fan per se. However, once you see one, you never forget it. They are impressive, just like your capture.
