Description
A view from a slanted perpsective at downtown Graz, Austria. That day the city had been invaded by Bulgarian Romany beggars, who disappeared mysteriously the following day. Starting to explore the crooked alleys of the old town from the main street, I happened to see this frame. I hope you'll like it as I did.
Thank you for your kind comments.

I like the stencil on the wall and I assume that the squirrel was done by another artist. Super that you included part of the cities architecture and the beggar. Dana

Poor and richly… the contrasts of a large city…. Sadly reality. Graffiti reminds me of Sergeant Pepper. Very good capture!

What a fantastic image! I like this a lot. The depth, the people, the imagine on the wall and the grainy texture of the wall itself. This is wonderful!

Interesting street art in this series. The Gypsies are still wandering Europe.

A beautiful and clever shot of this interesting scene. Those Romani travel around alot, don't they? I'm not sure if those stencilling graffiti painters qualify as real "artists". Where's the creativity? And again we see the turquoise squirrel. He's everywhere!

god, Sandra, your series are just the best. I saw these as they went up, and if I hadn't been so exhausted, I'd have commented on everyone. It makes it hard to choose, too, when I return, because I can't do everything in one sitting. (You have to know, I look no matter what I actually 'comment' on, and this gallery still remains unique in my online experience.) The Image: This strange 'communist'-looking figure, in what appears to be either a stencil design or an actual bas relief made from raised plaster, makes a striking figure for a building side. And it's feeding a squirrel? I wonder if this has some meaning to the area that we, in the States, wouldn't get. But with that big otherwise bland wall around it, it makes a perfect, big urban counterpoint to the beggar, the walker-by, the street and the teeming Germanic architecture across the street. (If it is Germanic: It looks like it's influenced by Germanic, if not the real article.) The angled lines are marvelous too, ie, in the open city section: Real counterpoint. To this, I'd say: Now this is urban photography! Juxtaposition galore, filled with questions, and a lot of fun to boot. Terrific shot, from a terrific series.
