Description

We saw this amazing ship in Boston. I couldn't get the whole thing, so thought the masts and rigging were pretty cool!!

Outstanding capture of the masts and rigging. The last time that I was there, they were replacing the masts. Nice to see her all back together. Dana

The legendary Old Ironsides, in all its glory! Love the POV and silhouetting in this keen capture of the ropes, rigging, masts, crow's nests, and all that other old time boat stuff, Marilyn!

It astonishes me that anyone would know exactly what all those ropes controlled. It looks beyond complicated to me! Of course many people feel that way about financial statements, so it's all relative. Love this!

Excellent capture of the rigging. The USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned ship inthe world. She got her nickname on August 19, 1812 when she defeated the British ship HMS Guerriere. When British cannonballs were seen bouncing off her oak hull the name Ironsides was born.

Ah, the Constitution...what a ship! I've seen other pictures of it, but none like this. I love the lines, the slopes, the angles, and the overall mood of this shot. Great foreboding twilight sky too...marvelous. Funny thing too, being a Star Trek nerd, I recognize the Constitution immediately. It's the ancient, ancient, very ancient forerunner of the Constitution Class Starship, the most famous member of that class being Capt'n Kirk's Enterprise. Just thought I throw that out there.
