Description
It's not just cats and dogs that end up in rescue centres, you know; there are people who might just begrudge the few coppers a day you need in oil and maintenance ...
So here's the scenario for a robot ...:
Your master has died and there is no-one to inherit you; or perhaps his children have enough robots of their own ... Or worse, perhaps your master has bought a newer model and you are now surplus to requirements; can a robot feel unhappy, can it feel rejected?
And now what do you do all day? You're programmed to work for man; and all of a sudden you've got no-one to work for.
Can a robot get bored? Depressed? What does it do while it waits for a new owner - does it think at all, or just wait, silent, unmoving, patiently waiting for a new life?
And how about you, human? Is a robot just a machine, or, looking at these, do you feel a twinge of sympathy, of compassion, of sadness at their lot?

Hmm... you know even today they have so many companies cropping up that are screaming at you to recycle your old mobile phone for cash... would there not be a future equivalent for bots? A robot is just a machine, after all. We only attribute feelings and emotions to them because they are easily anthropomorphosised (I think that's spelled right...). The harsh reality would probably be that as the new model comes out then the old bot would be traded in and recycled for parts. Unless the machine consists of bio-mechanical technology then surely it can't experience emotion as this is all down to bio-chemicals and hormones. And, no, I don't think andriods dream of electric sheep either. LOL! :) Just thought I'd toss that in there.

Very intriguing question. Your scenes are fun, but they also make me think and as we spiral towards more sophisticated AI, we may in reality have to question this at some point! Wonderful assembly of bots.. no pun intended. :)

I would probably be in the same boat as I am with animals, I would have way to many robots, but they would have a home, fantastic scene and characters, love their poses, outstanding work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
