Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Oh, yes, I've spent a LOT of time in and around Needles; that lovely sun now turns into near H---L in a few weeks! Great capture of these reeds with the sunlight on them!

WOnderful shot. I can almost here the wind in the reeds and feel the clean air.

I always wondered why it's called Needles. Something to do with this vegetation? Nice photo, but is there a breeze? Plants like this are a bit top heavy and tend to lean in the direction away from the wind irregardless if it's blowing or not. The low camera angle makes this grass look like tall trees. Nice with the sun just out of the photo to the right. Keep up the good work. This was quite fun! :-)

You sat on a beach in Needles, noted for its 120-degree desert heat? Oh well, magnificent contrast and textures in this shot, Bill. And, please check out my P-38 posting when you have time and the right Internet conditions.

I bet it was lovely to hear the wind in this grass as you whiled away the day. A lovely capture.

I'm going to the Colorado River in Needles this weekend--maybe I'll find these beautiful grasses!!

This is just a classic shot, Bill! The way you've composed this with the light, and the blue of the sky seperating the two bunches of grass - just brilliant! A superb shot, Bill!

Love the shot, and the reminder of a gorgeous day. Breezy? LOL! Yes, and the Grand Canyon is kind of big-ish. A perfect afternoon, nonetheless!
