19th century buildings... mondern fountain and an ancient star...
This is the second canal towards the sea, where this year I "boat" for the first time...
The one I did the tours on in 2009, 2010 (and again this year) was created in 1826-1868.. and when i reached the sea the tourism had become so important 'an industry', that the hotels were powerful enough to block a connection with the sea.. so the city had to create a new canal (1868-1886) further away.. that did reach the sea.
It still functions today as a "let out" of water when it rains to much.
