Description

This is a culmination of my attempts at making accurate British airborne & glider troops. This one is for you Neil, Operation Market Garden. I would like to thank Neil who allowed me to use his Horsa glider, the weapons & beret are from panko except for the Bren which is mine but isn't yet ready but from the render you cant tell what's wrong with it. The Oosterbeek church is from google as is the wind mill. Made new pants, ammo pouches, boots & dennison smock plus the toggle ropes & airborne helmet with camo net & scrim as separate props so as to allow for difference. All the props & uniforms were retextured with UV maps & bumps, I've even created mats with 3 different textures for the webbing, natural, faded & green blanko. I still have to work on the smock collar it needs improvment & I also need to make more than 1 camo texture to give it a bit of variation. This was a very complex scene 9 figures 4 gliders, 1 landed, 1 crashed & 2 in flight, (Neil also supplied the crashed Horsa) & the 2 buildings. The figures were setup in Poser then ported to Vue & rendered after adding trees the pastures & stone fence from darkanvil. The only PS post work is my signature. Thx for viewing & comments are welcome as always.

Really excellent work...A far more complicated scene than I ever could do...Your note about variations in color and pattern for the camo on the smock is right on as I noted that too...5 stars from me...Keep up the good work

Fabulous work, my friend! on both the modeling and the use of historical elements in your background. Market Garden has always interested me as well.

I think my computer would be doing the "crashing" if I tried something like this... all your effort has certainly paid off in the finished render
