No sooner had Anna gathered up George than a tremendous crash resonated through the dilapidated temple, shaking a few more pillars from their foundations. Instantly fully alert, Anna jumped to her feet clutching George close to her. It was Onna landing with a swirl of her flapping fairy wings!
With a mighty snarl Millicent wasted not a moment making a charge directly for the demonic fae. A fearless ambush fighter, Millicent gave not a second thought to taking on Onna with a swift strike! But she had gotten in only a few strides when a blazing wall of hot plasmic flames fairly exploding with writhing demons landed not a meter in front of her nose. Whiskers singed and toes spreading wide for traction, Millecent was slammed to a halt several meters away from her intended target. Hissing with wide-eyed fear and rage, though not retreating, her rapid rush was broken. Onna had quickly let her powers be known; she was not easily going to let Anna's feline familiar get a paw on her.
The hot blast blew Anna off her feet and as she flew through the air she lost her grip on George who was now squirming and fluttering in panic. No sooner had she released him than Onna cast a traction spell, grabbed George, and started reeling him in! Giddy with excitement, Onna could not believe that it was all going so well so quickly. She would have her dragon, be gone and let Shaw finish off this newbie knight.
Keeping her sensibilities, and even before she landed, Anna tried to throw a blocking protection spell around George. But being unable to fully focus, her spell was no match for Onna's - who had the advantage of both surprise and a fully focused attack, not to mention years more of experience in casting battle spells.
George let out a earsplitting screach as he was sucked out of Anna's embrace and into Onno's void. He desperately tried to flap free but his diminutive powers were no match against those of the mighty witch. Within moments George was being lost to Anna and in that terrible moment he knew that he had never loved her more.

While I know that George is temporarily lost from Anna, I know that this is just the opening skirmish in this protracted battle. George's wild nature will prevent onna from fully controlling him

Oh No , poor George. Not to worry Onna will not have him for long, I am sure. Great action scene. So much going on all at once. Poor Millicent and her singed wiskers. She will get her revenge for sure. Excellent job, Roxy. Hugs Liz

It is much I like in this picture. The sharp crisp unblurred edges (but yet beautifully antialiased), the difficult dramatic fall, the wonderfull picture of Millicent (the fur texture is really something), the special effect fire, the redish sky and indeed all the beautiful overall color toning included the nice glossy finish. So Onna thinks she has the upper hand hmm? Now, where is Gwyneth? ?

Wow! Beautiful work! The dynamics and sense of motion is captured expertly in all the poses. Beautiful render and the effects are great. The facial expressions really convey each character's personal situation. Great compostion. The story has got me reeled in. I really suspect things could go either way, but if she loses George here, she better get him back! Awesome work.

s comments, and then some. This is a difficult and complex scene, yet you make it look easy. Everything about this, from the composition, the color scheme, the posing, the lighting, the post-work, is incredibly well done. But for me, what really drives the emotional impact of this image is the expressiveness of all four characters faces. No blank stares here: every face shows clearly what emotion the individual is feeling. Georges face is especially wonderful. I have worked with the mildragon and I have no idea how you got so much expression out of that scaly face. Millicents expression says to me that you know cats: I can practically hear her hissing from here! And then your writing enhances and expands upon the image. Now I shall be holding my breath until I find out what happens to poor George!ssteph

Yaaay.. I new chapter in my favorite story! :) Beautiful work, Roxy, so much to admire in this piece. I love the gradient for the sky, the colors are beautiful tones melony orange, the delicate pink and appears yellow going underneath. Lovely touch! Millicent looks quite fierce, and I am sure had she not been spotted and foiled would have turned the tide of battle. The battle poses themselves are terrific and look wonderful! Love the falling motion and Onna is such a wicked girl here, very strong! Such a wonderful adventure - writing on this episode (as usual) is top notch!

An incredible, very cinematic piece! This is beyond words, Roxy! The action and emotion in this just ozzes from the screen! Superb work, my friend! I have no doubts that Anna will triumph in the end and it will be Onna's undoing.
