Description

A few days ago, a friend called and asked if I'd like to go out on his boat. He has 42' Trimaran, so duh, YES, I'd like to go out on his boat!! I rode my bike down to the dock, and he rowed me out to the middle of Balboa Bay (Newport Beach) where his boat is moored. I got the 2 dollar tour (not all that much space on a trimaran!!), and we just hung out in the gorgeous weather. This shot is one of the buoys (though he calls it a can) that moors the boat.

This brings back memories when I was running my fishing boat across the harbor. Little did I know that the ships tied their huge rope to one of the mooring buoys. The rope was below the water. Luckily the current and waves moved the ship, pulling the rope out of the water, gave me enough time to see the rope and I made a sudden stop! Whew! A few feet before disaster! #&$(@...That was a close one. Aloha

The first thing I did when I saw the title/thumbnail was giggle! Then I opened the picture and zoomed full size and WOW! What a shot! I love the light and the colors and the little touches of rust! Really well seen! And it looks so warm there! That's never a bad thing! I really like this.

Another title could be 'Rope Chaos' but sometimes it doesn't start that way. Things move and later you have a rat's nest of lines.

A 42 foot trimaran? Now I'm jealous! Like the marine growth and touches of rust. Nice shot.
