Description

This is Julia, last weekend in a side street alley in Memphis, Tennessee, shooting some old cobblestones that were laid back in the 18th century. We were actually in route to shoot some more of the big Mississippi River "100 Year Flood", but as is so often the case, the real gems in photography (and life itself) are found along the path searching for something else. In both cases you just have to be able to spot them quickly because the opportunity usually flies by fast! The late afternoon light gave the perfect backdrop to an alley I've been quite fond of for a long time, and have traveled through many times as it's a great downtown shortcut. This is about a block from the river's edge, which is now a lot closer than it's been in a long time! There was no color adjustment in this photo. Thanks for stopping by! marshall
