Description

This is my first attempt at painting a likeness of a real person. I think I came decently close for a first try, but I'd like to take another stab at it later. This is Willow (played by Alyson Hannigan) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I based her pose on the way she looked back in season five when she started levitating and throwing knives and electrocuting demons. As usual, I used a Poser wireframe as a reference for proportions and then painted the whole thing in Photoshop. Various photos and videos were used as reference for Aly's face and hairstyle.

the body looks a bit 2d-isch... but her face looks just like willow

You got Willow's face dead on and that's no easy feat. I kind of agree with the body, but it's the pose, more than the painting. Perhaps just a little more casual pose would work very well. Still though, exceptional...

the shading on the arms was off, thats what makes the body look 2d-ish, but other than that, it looks great
