Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

That rigging is nicely intense and it looks as if it has a hint of St. Elmo's Fire on it, which of course makes me wonder if there are any great white whales in the area being hunted by good ol' Capt'n Ahab. Okay, maybe I'm going a bit far with that, but oh well! Blame Arizona Brand "Sweet Tea" for that one. I really like this shot though, your POV gives such a cool sense of scale and presence and the colors are awesome. Nicely rich! I like this a lot! It's a zoomer too. Oh, did I just say awesome? Oh well...I guess I have an awesome quota to fill. But at any rate, I love this shot.

Up, up, and away, in this cool POV of the mast climbing to the heavens, Marilyn! These are the kind of shots that give me a crick in the neck and back, and the impression of falling over backwards.

Yeah ... if I were going very far I'd need a few classes! I'm good at the helm, but useless with the sheets.

It has been said that a boat is a hole in the ocean you throw money into. This mast looks appropriately expensive. Is that a satellite dish I see on the top? Very well captured. Great color and exposure.
