Description
I wasn't going to post any more beavers, but then I had a chance to get more photos, up closer. When this guy got fed up with me, he swam away and did "The Tail Smack". It's so loud, I just about jumped out of my skin!

It is so loud! The first time I heard it was in a canoe on the Slave River, and I never saw the beaver...I really thought it was a gunshot, until my canoe mate laughed and said it was a beaver. After you've heard it about a dozen times it won't be so startling! Great shot, looks like he's got the munchies!

I did get close, but not too close. As I was driving along this road (there is water almost up to the road) he was just sitting there munching, about two feet from the edge of the water. So, I just stopped slowlly, rolled down my window, turned off the car, and snapped away. So, it was pretty much dumb luck. For some later photos, I did get out of the car, but I don't want to get to close to those teeth. Thank you for the comments!
