Description

Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. The implement dealer in town is a little worried this year. With all the flooding there are not many farmers in the market able to afford any of these machines. They run anywhere between 95,000 and 358,000 for the ones shown here. Not many farms around here are smaller than 12,000 acres so the days of plowing and seeding with an old tractor just dont cut it. Unfortunately if the crops are not planted before first week of june its too late to get a crop harvested before the first hard freeze up that comes in september and kills what isnt harvested. This year due to the heavy rains since snow finally melted there is little chance these heavy machines will be able to get on the fields to put crop in. Unless we suddenly get about 2 weeks of hot warm weather to dry out the fields it is a wasted growing season. Our area grows about 1/5 of the wheat grown in the world, so you can expect next year flour, bread and pasta will be rather expensive. Jim

Thankyou Jim. You do not paint pleasant picture of what may be in store, We are all at the mercy of weather systems. My wish for the good weather too, after the severe winter it seems we have all had. It must be hard seeing expensive machinery lying idle.

That is some sad news Jim, and hopefully things will improve so they can salvage some of the growing season.

Excellent POV and capture! :) If they are not flooded, they have a drought. It's not going to be a good year for farmers.

Awesome!! Unbelievable these cost more than some houses. The dealerships must be playing a really big game of Chance. I agree with the previous comments. Our weather patterns have changed and we can't predict a good crop season,as when I was young. Great capture Jim. Machinery row looks way cool!! Love and Hugs... 11
