Wonderful capture Kim. Wolves are majestic creatures, it is sad to see them in captivity, but at the same time most people would never get a chance to see one if they weren't. There are lots of wolves in our area, not once has there been an encounter with a human, but unfortunatly many of them have been killed by "trophy hunters" that come up from the city and get some kind of thrill from having the ability to kill a magnificent animal by using a high powered rifle from 1000 yards away. The ones that try to say it is sport are just delusional. There is no sport in killing an animal with a highpowered rifle from such a distance. If they want to make it sporting they should wrestle the wolf without use of weapons, then it would be a truly sporting event. I am not against hunters that are truly hunting to put food on thier table to feed a family, but I have no respect for people that want to kill just for the thrill of the idea of killing something. for those folks i would suggest they set up a special hunting camp where they go out armed and hunt each other. the end result would be there would be that many less idiots breathing and eating valuable resources.

What a great shot. Wolves are gorgeous animals. They are mystical and mysterious animals, not to mention they are the ancestors of all dogs. Very impressive photo Kim.

A nice capture. In a few years that is what will be left of the wolves, states are going after them like crazy. Thinks to letting states decide on how to manage them. Aerial killing is the new thing - excuse? They killing to many elk, or moose, etc. Everyone knows that wolves take target the sick, injured or weak, while hunters always target the biggest and best. So they are not in competition. Pretty sad what it says about our society!
