Description

There is a television series here in America called "The Most Dangerous Profession." It is a reality series about life aboard the fishing fleets that sail in Alaskan waters. Certainly fishing in the Bering Sea and the extreme North Pacific has to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, but seriously; the MOST dangerous. I think not. I doubt any U.S. or Nato serviceman presently serving in a hot war zone would agree. Certainly the U.S. Seal Teams might just be the most dangerous work there is anywhere in the world. However, what about firefighters in our cities and national forests? Miners of any material be it coal or diamonds? The list could go on and on, but I think you take my point. Now, I'm not taking anything away from those Alaskan fishermen. In fact, the sone of a dear friend is one of them. It IS a very dangerous and risky job. Nature is their biggest adversary and I've tried to convey some of that in this render. So this posting is for them. I hope it is worthy of their bravery and hard enterprise. Thanks, as always for dropping by to take a look. Your comments and other encouragements always mean a lot. 'Til next time, Jeremy CREDITS: Vue7 Pro Studio. Vessel: AlfredoBilbao's "Ziortza fishing boat" (Google Warehouse). Terrain: DreamlandModels "Wave Tile Huge" from "SeaVue" object collection (Renderosity).

Jeremy this does look really fine especially the water and being out in nasty and cold weather on a boat definitly wouldn't be my way of life, so cudos to those who take it on no matter how :)

Nice work on the image. As for "The Most Dangerous" status, it's because of the number of people killed each year in that profession. My brother worked on one of those boats in the Bering Straights, and it truly is more dangerous than anything in North America (Note: North America, that doesn't include combat jobs abroad) and entire boats with upwards of half a dozen are lost every year. One storm alone when my brother was there caused the loss (nothing was ever found at all) of 2 boats in one day! He has truly scary stories of the life, water that can kill you after only 3 minutes exposure, using a gaff to save a fellow crewman who was almost washed overboard, ship dumping their fresh water storage to make it lighter in a desperate effort to avoid foundering in a storm... It's definitely NOT the life for me!

I think you depicted the situation incredibly well. If those are whitecaps on the water, then the water's definitely choppy. This render reminds me alot of the movie "The Perfect Storm" . Well done.!

Super atmosphere and details!!! And we should also consider missionaries who risk their lives to share the Gospel around the world! Grace and Peace!

Wonderful work! Excellent spray effect along with a nicely balanced composition. "Deadliest Catch" was always one of my favorites. Heck, anything on the storm-tossed Bering Sea is an attention-getter in my book!
