Description

Hi there. This small moth (they really got no wings!) is a female Winter Moth (Operophtera brumata). I found her in the cold February here in my hometown sitting on a wall near the marketplace. I took her with me to show her my children and take some shots. Sitting on a tree in our garden you can see how her colours are matching with natural grounds. I saw them about 20 years in the past the last time and now I was able to take a shot of one of them. Great chance for me. Tomorrow I will show you another aspect of her. Have all a good start into the new week.

This guy really blends into the background- I wonder if a side shot would yield a more intriguing background contrast? The forest beyond in bokeh and a side view of this moth. Just a thought.
