Description

The Tuesday Night Art Club was meeting. Vincent and Gauguin were arguing about something, as usual. Pablo was suggesting to Leonardo that he loosen up a bit, perhaps being more expressive. Leo scoffed, saying at least his people looked like people. Georgia just kept painting her flowers. Wonder what it might be like to sit in the corner and listen to the conversations. Painted in the hair and faces. Paris Studio by Age of Armour.

what i love is that i could easily identify all of the characters on their own, with the slight exception of O'Keefe. the interactions all work well, too. the artwork is, of course, immediately identifiable, and well arrayed. the visibility of the paintings to the audience doesn't feel at all contrived, though i know everything is positioned deliberately. the only weak points i can see are ones you can't do much about. the floor texture seems way too large for the scale of everything else (even if the boards were that large, the patterns on them wouldn't be), and the shadows are a little too constant (not blurring and getting fainter with distance). well, that and the unkindness of bringing back Picasso without Matisse :D. i like the distortion from the camera angle because it gives me the sense of a large space. overall, it's an excellent use of a complex scene, and great storytelling.
