Description

Chambered Cairn in South Glamorgan, Wales,UK. This chambered long cairn is covered by an almost rectangular mound, which has a stone cist half way along the northern side. It has a forecourt to the east created by the horns of the cairn, allowing entrance to the main burial chamber. Built around 6000 years ago in the neolithic period. The brick pillar inside was put there in 1914 to help support the huge capstone which has cracked. The capstone weighs 40 tons!
