I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/ÂÂ

This is super, and congratulations on the new job. There's always a particular sort of excitement that goes along with new employment stuff. Hopefully it's a good one. As for this image! WOW! I happen to be a sucker for a good reflection nebula...I like emission nebulae as well, but there's just something about all of that blueness that really appeals to me. Maybe it's from a childhood spent watching movies like The Black Hole (Remember that one?) or the first Star Trek featuring V'ger (the great grandaddy of all big, blue clouds, at least on screen) And all of that is to say, yeah, blue clouds rock! I particularly like the layers and all of the activity going on in and around this one. This rocks, and I'm quite intrigued as well about your mom's project. All-in-all, I really like this; it's one of those "Hey Hubble, eat your heart out" kinds of shots.

First - congrats on snagging a new position - I hope it works out well for you! Second - man, if your mom is making quilts out of these images.......let me get my order in now... This is another kick-butt starscape, Mike! I just love these! You've inspired me to keep looking up, and I'm beginning to compile a nice collection of cloud photos.... Speaking of space and looking up..... Don't know if it's made the news in your part of the country, but around Kansas City we've had a lot of sightings of mysterious lights in the sky - they were talking about it on the news tonight. The lights appear as orange orbs - my wife and I actually saw one a couple years ago. I don't have any idea what they are, but they seem to appear about this time of year. Guess I'll just have to call them what they - technically speaking - are...UFOs. Wierd. Anyway, I'm hoping to shake loose a little more free time soon, and I can't wait to sit down and play with the clouds and Photoshop!

Your technique works well DrO. We can all borrow from NASA but you don't have to so can produce more original work. Very well done :)
