“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

At first I thought it was a shot you had taken a few decades ago, until I noticed the waves and clouds were the same! Very well done, Clive

I feel the same about the beaches along Floridas East Coast. Should have been left natural and not loaded down with hotels, motels and houses.

It's beautiful either way, my eyes automatically go to the natural elements and skip right over the buildings!

Great views, Bill while I prefer the upper (older) view, without the buildings, it would be hard to stay there

Great image Hugs Susan~

Great foreground effects and mountain opacity transition as they fade into the distance in these excellent captures. The two pics are virtually alike, Bill, the main difference being the structures along the shore in the bottom shot.

Amazing the difference the clarity makes, your capture really sparkles.

Wow! You've really done a nice job in retouching away the buildings in this. Particularily with a wooded background - not easy to get right at all! My hat's off to you! Nice original photo. Keep 'em coming! :-)

I'm totally impressed with your postwork on this image. Getting rid of the buildings must have been the easiest part. I wish I'd been watching you to see how you reforested the clear cut areas of the Coastal Range!! Fascinating to think about, isn't it? Really fine work.

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang, Bill - you did one fantastic job on this! Not only did you take out all the overpriced hotels and other buildings, but you reforested the mountains as well! An excellent job, my friend! I'm totally impressed! I think it looks a lot better in it's 'undeveloped' state!

Outstanding postwork on the top photo made possible by the outstanding shot on the bottom. Dana

I'm sorry to be clogging your inbox with comments this morning but I just have to comment on this one. My eyes were immediately drawn to the fact that there were to clear cuts when Capt. Cook was here. I wish it was that way today. Only after looking a few moments did I notice the buildings were gone as well. I just hate clear cuts, but then, I do live in a home made of wood so I shouldn't be so critical.
