Description

Went to the local Arboretum today (Fullerton CA) hunting for some insects. Was so excited when I spotted this PM nymph on a plant. It was pretty evasive at first, but finally got it to mellow out for a few nice shots. It was small, about 10-12mm. I will likely post another shot tomorrow of it on my thumbnail so you can get a good idea of how small it is. Anyway, happy to have finally captured one with my lens. Even if it was a baby. Cute little fella. Minimal PP. Thanks for looking... -Bruce

I am very familiar with the baby mantis. This is a fabulous shot. They are not easy for me to get a focus lock on because of their very tiny size. I have found 2 egg cases in the back yard that hatched and I know from experience there are at least 6 more I will never find. I can't wait to find the first one in the garden.
