Description

Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. The robins that built this nest are the most persistent little critters I've ever seen. This electrical meter sits on the side of our house right beside the garage door on my side. When I first saw them gathering twigs and stuff here i tore down thier work so they had to start over. I didnt want them building a nest right beside the garage door, because once they have babies in there they get mad and attack when you come near. After tearing all thier work down 10 days in a row I finally gave up and within a day they had it completely built and ready to move into. Even though I know it is going to be unpleasant in a week or so when the babies are there, you have to respect the kind of dedication it takes to keep rebuilding your home. Jim

Thanks for sharing this pic and story Jim as it gave me a huge smile. Your so right about how persistant they can be, but you need to think of it in a more positive way. After all what this tells me is they enjoy your company so much their willing to overlook your destructive tendancies just to remain neighbors. ;)

Great capture! :) Two things; Don't let them win, put something there to stop them and don't watch them dails to long or you'll go crazy! ;D

They really are persistant but anything you want in life is worth going after and this is the spot they wanted LOL. Just think of it as aiding the world population of robins.

A great story Jim. I wonder why they are so insistent on that exact location. I also wonder what the power company meter reader is going to do when the eggs hatch. S/he may not take kindly to reading numbers with eyes under attack. Great shot! I will be disappointed if no further episodes are forthcoming.
