The only airworthy B-29
They had a chronic problem of overheating engines. State-of the-art aircraft require state-of-the-art maintenance which was not always available on the front line.

I read the story of how the CAF aquired this plane, fascinating but scary stuff.A dedicated group of people, good to see 'FiFi' is still flying.Sad but nor surprising she's the only one flying, not the easiest thing to find a parking space for, plus it needs a 'couple' of extra yards of runway for getting up and getting down, compared to your average warbird.Great post, thanks for sharing.....

Super post...I've only seen the museum variety. I can only imagine FiFi's hourly operating costs these days.
