Description
This pretty male sand lizard suns itself in the early evening in a small Picea glauca var. albertiana 'Conica'. The female lizard suns itself also in this tree. She is not as pretty as the gentleman.

What a marvel of a shot! I wish that Chicago had a reptile population, especially of such handsome creatures as this gentleman. And it looks like he's beginning to molt! Marvelous. Superb color! I love his facial expression also.
