Das sind bestimmt noch ausebombte Hütten vom 2ten Weltgrieg oder leergeräumte wegen der MAUER, eine Freundin von mir, die in Phillis (US) wohnt, hat mir mal erzählt, dass es in Phillis noch viele solch ausehende Stadtviertel gibt, da hausen jetzt die vier- und zweibeinige Ratten!

We once had many areas here in Los Angeles, California with buildings like this. Rather than demolish them, people bought them and restored them. This became known as 'gentrification'. Some people found this controversial because it displaced poor people. In the end many fine old buildings were saved from the wrecking ball. I find it sad that Berlin cannot find a way to save some of it's wonderful heritage that could also provide decent housing for it's people. Wir hatten einmal vielen Bereichen hier in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, mit Bauten wie diese. Anstatt abzureißen sie, kaufte sie Menschen und restauriert sie. Dies wurde bekannt als "Gentrification". Einige Leute fanden diese umstritten, weil es arme Menschen verdrängt. Am Ende viele schöne alte Gebäude wurden von der Abrissbirne gerettet. Ich finde es traurig, dass Berlin nicht einen Weg finden, einige davon zu retten ist wunderbar Erbe, das auch könnte angemessenem Wohnraum für seine Leute.
