Description
The Gordian knot is a term in common parlance used to describe an extremely difficult or involved problem. The term is based on a legend of Phrygian Gordium associated with Alexander the Great. Legend has it that the knot was tied to a pole near the temple of Zeus in Gordium. Whoever possessed the wisdom to unravel it qualified as ruler of the kingdom. Alexander did so by unsheathing his sword and cutting it in half.
I thought the image would be particularly apt for Monica because in addition to being a gifted artist whose gallery graces Renderosity , she is also a lawyer. Having served as an expert witness on more occasions than I care to count, I know the term is a favorite of lawyers.

Gorgeous image Stan. I just watched the video Monica did for you. She made a magnificent job and she picked many of my favorite images of yours to do it. Excellent collaberation. I dont really know much of the history of the Gordian knot, but have heard the term used often.

This Gordian Knot of yours is both meaningful and beautiful. In fact, I have just realized that a fractal such as the one you made constitutes such a knot precisely because of the self-recursiveness of its geometry. I can imagine why the Gordian knot is used within lawyer terminology. It looks extremely complicated. Your fractal image is outstanding Stan. The colors and delicate woven threads are fantastic.
