Description
'Bright Eyes'
This shot was taken indoors and the Owl was around ten feet away, behind a wire mesh barrier. I used a long focal length lens and a tripod (I nearly always tripod the camera).
By using a long lens (90mm-400mm zoom) I was able to make the wire mesh almost invisible.
I used existing daylight as I hate flash it's too harsh.
It's not perfect but considering the conditions I'm fairly pleased with the result.
Thanks for looking,
Tony

I think it's a great effect you achieved. It works because of that odd expression he has. It's sort of wondering and expectant, like he waiting for you to come to the same conclusion that he has.

I would never have guessed the conditions this was taken under. It's an awesome shot of a magnificent bird.
