Close by our house, there is an Ash tree; the leaves are often among the last to open in spring, and the first to fall in autumn if an early frost strikes;
I have been amazed at the variety of birds landing in this tree; one reason is certainly that Ashes are used as food plants by the larvae (caterpillars) of a number of Lepidoptera species (see list !)
The House Sparrow (Passer domesticus) is a species of passerine bird of the sparrow family Passeridae. It occurs naturally in most of Europe, the Mediterranean region, and much of Asia.

Nicely composed shot! We also have House Sparrows in the United States. I see them often.
