Description

Here on Outpost 94 we have found traces of alien infestation. This is a daz 3 render made on 04th of nmay 2011. With daz 4 there seem to be issues in parenting, meaning when I construct one of my streetscenes with various roofs and windows and crap, it does not parents,it places objects miles away from each other and has to be parented manually wich is a pita to me,as I live in my scenes it’s a nogo for now,I will still experiment ,seems to be stable only one crash his morning hehehe, but I don’t know what happened there with the parenting unless it’s a new technique hidden some place .i stick to it and let you know my experiences. Its not a must to upgrade daz 3 works fine.only problem will be that new content created for these figures must have daz 4 and maybe future clothing and all that as well, giving you the message “this was created using a higher version” and bla..bla.. the usual thing. Having over 40 renders ready to upload from last month, I can spare the time to wander around in forums to pick up the news and let you know. Some people seem not to get it -lol,maybe my spacko-pc chinese is not so comprehensible: The installation runs smooth ,you must give it another folder to install separately from other daz versions.then point to map the runtimes you want to use. You will not ruin any existing installations unless you choose the default setup, and install in existing folders from previous installations. A customized set up is a must. Example X:/Dazstudio/daz4/bla..bla… Also the daz4 included content in the same folder/ daz4/my library/ I have DAZ2 for very quick tests when I download a freebie or buy new stuff, and want to see how it looks in a fast way. DAZ3 is the main workplace DAZ4 just a play at the moment. All 3 installations use the same runtime wich I have since daz 2 times and I install all in there. (except special stuff for daz 3 (example shaders etc) and daz 4 only) No conflicts so far Rocky/grassy flats,Killsats and Stellar Sniper valandar daz3d, Space freebies station and vessels by josie aka Apple_Uk,thank you very generous hon.

Ya good that all 3 versions of Daz use the same runtime. One would run out of hard drive space..You planted a bug, so now I am migrating content data.????? Anyway started yesterday and its still running 82% done at 0545am today.. Lets see what happens...Keep us informed :) Great scene..

Great image Doc pity about the alien Infestation don't know how they are going to get rid of them, the aliens have some big guns there dude!! Thanks for the continued update on daz 4 pity about the parenting thats would suck surely we are not the beta testers for them again one would think that parenting would have been one of the first things they sorted out... Maybe it has to do with their auto fit tool for $70.00 they are selling ...mmm

I think i'll stay with DAZ3.It's been pretty good to me so far.I learned to save my scenes all the time because of the crashes, aside from that,no complaints. Awesome scene...with those weapons,I don't think they have anything to worry about!!!

Wonderful work my friend, excellent details! Thank you for all the info on DS4. I'm still using DS2 as my main, because even thugh my machine matches or exceeds the system requirements, DS3A never did play nice. I definitly don't see DS4 in my future. Poser maybe ;)

i keep on getting crashes when i add some props i leave it for the time beeing, upsets me too much. i bought andi3ds scenescapes with roofs windows and all that to assemble and create your own cityscpaes and that works well in daz2 and 3 and in daz 4 it sets each prop miles away and not even parents them.too bad. sorry to say but it seems to me that the version was not ripe for release.(my opinion) luckily i installed the way i did in separate folders and even on separate partitions. lets see what the future brings. same happens with other software once the most bugs are cleared in a version x then you can jump to the next version as the new content wont work in the old one,and the game starts all over. are we eternal beta testers or what??.the more i write the more upset i get ,thats why i leave and love you for now hehehe.(dont want to use my lowlevel language.) to get rid of the frustration i might jump into the military sale later on,gives someone at least the chance to make some money for content wich hopefully will work.

Well it was free, so I would expect a free bumps. Unlike Poser which cost that has lots of bumps when it comes out and even afterward. I think I will not purchase another Poser. Always too much problems. P8 is doing stupid crap like if I change a pose, the hair and clothes that is parented don't move with the character. I have to click out of the scene like and come back to fix it. Ugh, so annoying. Poser 6 was worse and poser 5 was even crappier. 5 got where you just really could use it. I had to upgrade. Sorry for ranting so much..... :-) Great scene.

Super, detailed scene, Rene - you always put so much into your scenes - it's almost like a little movie all in one image! Brilliant, Bro! Well, I downloaded D4, but I haven't installed it on any of my systems yet - I may well hold off for a while. Maybe they'll get all the bugs worked out... I'm presently using Poser 8 - seems to be running relatively smoothly on my new computer, but I've had the same experience as boobunny with clothes & hair not moving with the figure when I change poses... I usually just re-conform one item, and they all pop back in place - wierd. I've also noticed when I use open GL preview, it tends to flash images of the previous view in the background. If it gets too annoying, I'll switch to Sreed - open GL is faster when moving around in the scene, so I commonly switch back & forth between the two. Ah, well....

You do look to have an infestation in this super scene but those big guns look as if they will deal to it, no trouble. Excellent work.

Sorry to hear daz 4 is'nt running smoothly. The more complex they make something, the more that can go wrong. I'm happy as a clam with daz 1.8, hehehe. Excellent scene.
