Captured 5/25/09, in commemoration of my fellow veterans, both living and dead, at the beautiful Los Angeles National Cemetery in beautiful West Los Angeles, California.

More than 86,000 veterans, going back to the American Civil War, are interred there.
And over 1000 American veterans of World War II die each day.

At least these soldiers/men came home, many living to old age. I often think of the ones who died and were buried abroad, or worse, never were buried (lost at sea, blown to shreds, burned to ashes). Relatives and friends hoping against hope, yearning to hear of their fate.... The sadness and futility of war, often started by politicians believing they are immune to the consequences of what they start. Beautiful job with the straight rows forming curves, almost like an arrow head aimed at the viewer, like a pointed reminder. Keep up the good work!

I missed getting to a veterans cemetery and paying my respects Harry. Thanks for providing me with a moment to salute all our veterans. And thank you for your service...each of us has played an important part...like musicians in a band.
