Description

Please remember all military personal who have served or are currently serving their country. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is in, Washington, DC. Official ground breaking was March 26, 1982. It was dedicated November 13, 1982, on 2 acres between the Washington and Lincoln Memorials. There are 58,195 names on The Wall, including 153 out of the 244 Vietnam Veterans awarded the Medal of Honor. I believe that there are 8 women on the wall – all medical officers. As you can see, the panels are recessed into the ground and if you zoom, you can see the white specks that are notes from family and other loved ones. The memorial is well done, I have been there to see this. It is very powerful to stand and touch the wall and remember.
